The table is sorted based on 4 criteria:

Best Web Hosting Providers by HRank Sorting

HRank is the primary value composed of the following metrics: Uptime, Response, Tech Support, Quantity of Sites.

Thus, you get the list of best web hosting companies with reference to all the criteria by sorting data by this primary value.

The criteria and their proportion of the calculation of HRank values are as follows:

• Uptime – 5.2,    
• Response – 3,
• Tech Support Livechat – 1,
• Sites – 0.5,
• Quality – 0.3.

The Tech Live Support value was added to the HRank formula with the proportion of 1 point, which allows for determining the web hosting companies that provide quick hosting-related technical support via LiveChat (the availability or lack of which is shown by a value of either 1 or 0).

The Sites value adds 0.5 points to the HRank score if the number of websites hosted by the company exceeds 1000 (shared hosting).

The Quality value is subjectively defined by our team based on the quality of the website and the information on hosting company website.

Ultimately, the most decisive values are Uptime and Response, providing 8.2 out of 10 points of the HRank score in total. These two values are the baseline metrics that reflect the work performance of a hosting company.

Best Web Hosting Companies by Uptime Sorting (Website’s Availability)

The Uptime value sorting is also indicative of the work of web hosting companies.

If you look at the 2019 Uptime Ratings, it becomes clear that a small number of companies with only up to 1000 hosted websites show the best results. However, this does not mean that they’ll remain on top come next year.

Our advice would be to pay close attention to bigger companies, which show very good Uptime values despite their large scope.

TOP Web Hostings by Response Sorting (Server Response Time)

This value should be sorted in ascending order so as to determine the faster servers. Still, we wouldn’t recommend choosing a web hosting company based only on this value. It’s worth looking at only after you consider the Uptime value (in other words, the availability of websites provided by the servers).

Shared IPs and Sites Sorting

These values only show a quantitative description of the web hosting companies in question based on the standard of more than 150 sites per 1 IP (server).

Currently there are about 230 shared hosting providers on our list, however, we are monitoring more than 300 overall.

Not all of them are in the list due to the “>150 domains rule”.

We focus only on the providers that operate and offer their services in the English-speaking sector; thus, there are some European representatives and a certain share from other parts of the world.

The table shows that some of web providers with smaller uptime results are ranked higher than the ones with better uptime. 

The reason is in the combination of factors that influence the overall HRank of the provider.

As in the example above, it is clear that BlueDomino uptime is less (red square), but it is faster (green square) and has more than 1000 domains on all shared IPs (blue square), which gives it an advantage over ITXDesign.
