Offers and Pricing

Shared Hosting Plans
Name Domains Disk Bandwidth Min Price Billing Term
Starter 1 Unlim Unlim $2.95 12 Mo
Unlimited Unlim Unlim Unlim $7.95 12 Mo

Currently, it offers 2 shared hosting plans: Starter and Unlimited.

Payment options: monthly and annually, the latter option is way more beneficial (see the prices in the table above) as the monthly one is much more costly: $4.95/mo and $10.95/mo.

No setup fees are added, this is a plus.

The provider offers:

  • Shared / VPS / Dedicated / Cloud hosting,
  • WordPress services,
  • their own website builder,
  • domain registration and much more.

DreamHost promotes reliability. Offering freebies, DreamHost hype is accredited to PCMag’s ‘Best Web Hosting Service’ award-winning, and 100% uptime and 97-day money back guarantees. Nonetheless, the actual DreamHost uptime is pretty much the same as one of the cheaper web-hosts.

Instant Technical Live Support: No

Dreamhost.com support chat

Thus, DreamHost cares about the clients excelling in friendly and instant customer support and supplying with an extensive knowledge base on the website. One “na-ah” is the lack of phone number.

Another one is (despite “Sales & Support, at your service. 24/7 in-house support, here when you need us.“) the fact that their live chat offers support only at certain hours:

Our Sales team is available from Monday – Friday, 8-4PM PT. If you’d like to leave your email address with me, they will contact you as soon as they can“.

Report for 2018

HRANK# in TOPUptime, %Response, msSites, +(-)Shared IPs, +(-)
  • The company’s HRank rating is 7.3 as of 2018 (the 60th position on our 2018 list).
  • Not perfect rant is the result of some downtime during the monitoring period, and also due to the fact that domains on its two of its Shared IPs used to be non-responsive for more than 2 days in the aforementioned period.
  • Though, its response time was better than average (300ms – 400ms). This fact definitely added some points to the provider’s rating.
  • Its number of domains dropped in July 2018 but stayed at more or less the same level since that time. The company still hosted a lot of websites as of December 2018.
