Sprit.org Review Visit provider
Sprit.org Thumbnail

Business Name: MELON Informationstechnologie GmbH.

Year of foundation: n/a

Location: Wien, Austria

BBB Accreditation: No

Market Size: > 2K websites (#96 in HRank list)

Growth Status: (by websites quantity): Decreasing

Sprit.org is an Austrian company that has been offering domain, and web hosting services for more than 10 years.

Their website contains very little information apart from the official name of the company and its address “MELON Informationstechnologie GmbH., Weyringergasse 13, A-1040 Wien“.

The clients of this company are private users and small companies.

There is hardly anything else we managed to find about this provider.

Offers and Pricing

Shared Hosting Plans
Name Domains Disk Bandwidth Min Price Billing Term
Basic 1 15 Gb Unlim $3.31 1 Mo
Pro 1 30 Gb Unlim $4.45 1 Mo
Multi 30 50 Gb Unlim $11.29 1 Mo

Currently, the provider offers 3 shared plans (you can see them in the table above) with a monthly payment option. The prices in the table are in US dollars, however, on their website they are displayed in Euro (Basic € 2,90, Pro€ 3,90, and Ultra€ 9,90).

The services of Sprit support nearly all existing operating systems and gadgets including Windows, Linux, Mac, iPhone, Android, etc.

The company works with the most popular software systems such as Joomla, WordPress, and VirtueMart to ensure correctness of functioning.

Also, Sprit.org’s web hosting services provide the possibility of registration of an unlimited number of domain names.

In addition, they give their clients an opportunity to use external domains registered with other providers via Spirit.org.

The provider’s website can be accessed in both German and English, however, the prices are not converted, they stay in Euro.

Instant Technical Live Support: No

The company offers only a contact form, an email and a phone number as support options. There is no live chat, unfortunately; and we also suppose, it might be hard to deal with tech problems if you are away from Austria and Germany.

Some points taken because of the missing live chat.

Report for 2018

HRANK# in TOPUptime, %Response, msSites, +(-)Shared IPs, +(-)
  • Sprit.org scored 3.7 HRank, thus, only #174 in 2018. Nothing personal.
  • First of all, the provider’s uptime was hardly ever 100% in all 6 months of monitoring. Also, it wasn’t lower than 98% but very unstable. It is hardy a web hosting that can really guarantee that your website will always be online.
  • Secondly, judging by its response time, it was not the fastest of all, either. Mostly, it stayed in the following range: 500ms – 600ms. Well, this is not the worst result of all but not the best either.
  • The same number of Shared IPs (7) didn’t stop websites from leaving. The decreasing trend is not a sharp one (as we can see on the site chart) but it is very distinct.
