Background

Location: Birmingham, UK

BBB Accreditation: No

Market Size: > 200 websites (#174 HRank list)

HostXnow.com is a British web hosting service (headquartered in Birmingham). It operates since 2009 and is now available for users in GB, Germany, France, and Canada. It has a network of data centers spread around these countries. Although the company does not strive to present itself as a major service, it has gained a stable reputation among those who have been engaged with it.

HostXnow uses a highly individual approach, and it addresses every little issue very closely. With an approach like that, it deserves a greater geographic range than it has now. However, they say that being a small business is even a better destiny for a web hosting service. Most users talk good about the company’s work, particularly about its support service. However, some confess that there has been some downtime, most likely, due to a third party issue.

Report for 2018

  • 3.3 HRank and #202 in 2018. Hostxnow.com wasn’t great in spite of such a choice of shared hosting options and good support.
  • Its uptime values mostly stayed above 99% line, however, 2 cases of ~68% and ~70% downtime were too severe for a good rating to stay.
  • Response time range changed for better, though. At the beginning of the monitoring period it was mostly 800-1,000ms but from November to December it became 400-600ms. Well, they improved.
  • Due to this fact, we assume, they managed to increase the number of domains at the end of the year, yet, only to lose some after that.
