The company’s services have proved attractive for both smaller businesses and major corporations. Most users say well about Hostwinds’ attitude, although there have been complaints about higher than expected downtime, failure to install OS source files onto HDs, and being too slow to provide technical support.
The latter might not be entirely true as they answer very fast and provide tech support (as much as they can). But they are very! fast to react, we were impressed.
Report for 2018
- HRank for 2018: 4.2. Only #144 because of poor performance, we are afraid.
- Here is why. Uptime was very unstable and almost never 100%. There were a lot of cases when it went to 98% and even to 96%. However, a several-day period in November was the worst when it das noted by 92% downtime. Not good.
- It was also slow to respond. Its domains’ response time mostly stayed in the range of 800-1,000ms. Could be better.
- No surprise there is a distinct declining trend in the number of domains and Shared IPs. Customers left unsatisfied, or so it seems.
